I love a glam moment. I enjoy sitting at my dressing table and playing with makeup. Sculpting, creating and concealing.

But let’s face it, who can be bothered to risk their happiness every single day for a winged liner? Not me.

Instead, I’ve been on the hunt for a daily low-key makeup routine. I’m talking light coverage BB creams, single coloured eyeshadow and most importantly – lipstick that doesn’t dry out my lips.

So below are the products I’ve been trying over the past few weeks and have fallen in love with.

Primer: NYX Professional Makeup Bare With Me Hemp Perfecting Primer

This primer is infused with hemp-derived cannabis sativa seed oil and centella asiatica extract. I don’t really know what that does, but it’s a very hydrating primer.

It’s great for dry skin and if you like a dewy skin look, you could even wear this alone.

Base: NYX Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil

I’ve been searching for a light base I could wear every day and after a bit of research, I ordered the NYX Bare With Me Tinted Skin Veil and I can’t recommend it enough. Not only is it really lightweight, but it’s the perfect everyday coverage.

It looks quite shiny upon first application, but once you’ve let it dry and added some setting powder, it really gives that ‘my skin, but better’ look.

Brush: Real Techniques mini expert face brush

I only grabbed this brush because it was £6, but I’m absolutely obsessed with it for my base.

I haven’t used a foundation brush for years, so was sceptical to return, but this buffs the NYX Skin Veil really well into my skin.

I assume it’s meant to be travel-sized, but at half the price of a normal Real Techniques brush, I couldn’t say no.

Eyebrows: Benefit Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel & NYX Professional Makeup Tame & Frame Eyebrow Pomade

This combo is a game changer. The Gimme Brow+ sets my eyebrows in place, ready to use the pomade with a simple angled brush.

If I’m having a very basic makeup day, I even just use the Gimme Brow+ on its own and it adds the right amount of ‘no-makeup makeup’ that I want.

Benefit Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel mini £12.50

NYX Professional Makeup Tame & Frame Eyebrow Pomade £7

Eyeshadow: Morphe 9D Painted Desert Artistry Palette

I tried to be an eyeshadow wizard in the past, but I just don’t have the time or inclination to do lewwwwks. Enter the Morphe palette. It’s really affordable and does a great job for even the most basic look.

Most of the time, I use one boring colour on my lid (vista) and lower lash line and I’m not apologising for it.

Morphe 9D Painted Desert Artistry Palette £12

Mascara: Benefit Roller Lash Curling Mascara

Benefit makes some of the best eye makeup on the market and the mascara is no exception. Roller Lash makes your eyelashes look voluminous and thick, so basically, everything you want from a mascara.

I always buy the mini versions for all Benefit products because I don’t wear makeup too often but they’re great quality. This makes it pretty competitive against other mascaras and to be honest, a little really does go a long way.

Benefit Roller Lash Curling Mascara £12.50

Lipstick: NYX Lip Lingerie Matt Liquid Lip

Having tried what feels like 100s of liquid lipsticks, the NYX Lip Lingerie is definitely a winner. It comes in lovely neutral shades, stays on when brunching and most importantly, isn’t drying.

I’ve been using the shade French Maid, but am definitely going to pick up some more neutral shades for everyday wear.
